Glacier

Vertical ice terrain — traversal and falls are the problem.

Threats
  • — Slips and falls on ice
  • — Sudden weather shifts at elevation
  • — Limited flat ground for shelters
Salvage focus
  • — Ice-cached supplies
  • — Reclaimed pre-catastrophe technology
Traversal

Move along ridgelines and established paths; avoid improvised descents with a full pack.

How Glacier plays

Glacier terrain is referenced in official biome framing alongside tundra and buried cities.

Elevation changes make movement risk a bigger factor than temperature alone.

Ice surfaces are expected to interact with the traversal and shelter systems, but exact handling is unmeasured pre-launch.

What is still unmeasured here

Biome-specific numbers are not published and cannot be inferred. The following stay blank on this page until they can be measured in the demo or the launch build:

  • Temperature band and how fast exposure accumulates in this biome
  • Resource node density and respawn behaviour
  • Enemy and wildlife spawn tables
  • Loot table weights for the salvage listed above
That list is the point of this page. Every pre-launch Permafrost wiki has opinions about those four things and none of them have measurements.
